Today's computer technology allows transplant programs in different regions of the country to be linked together. The APD's goal is to combine these regional databases to form one national paired donation program. Simply put, the more living donors registered in the paired donation system, the more lives that can be saved. The APD also seeks to provide patient support that goes above and beyond medical intervention.
You can help. The Alliance for Paired Donation, Inc. needs your help. Would you consider making a contribution to this worthy cause? An estimated $500,000 is needed to run the clinical paired donation program over the next 3 years. Additional contributions are also needed to support the patient services the APD provides. |

It is estimated that paired donation will one day allow for an additional 3,000 living donor renal transplants per year in America, greatly increasing the number of living kidney donors. Of all the advances made in renal transplantation in the last 25 years, paired donation has the greatest potential to extend the lives of patients with renal disease. However, paired donation is still in its infancy and needs further development. The Alliance for Paired Donation (APD) seeks to foster that development. APD is a non profit organization that has been created to serve kidney patients through a multi-faceted approach: education, charitable gifts, and ongoing development of paired donation technology. |

| Financial support for educational opportunities and training of transplant-related professionals. |

nationwide paired exchange network |
| Financial support for transplant-related research. who have unique needs. For example, we may assist patients who are unable to pay for the cost of their post-surgery medications, donors who sustain an injury during their donor operation, or donor/recipient pairs needing assistance with travel expenses related to their transplant. |

The Alliance for Paired Donation appreciates your generosity. Any amount you choose to contribute will help us help kidney transplant patients.
The APD supports educational opportunities for at-risk members of our local renal transplant community, as well as students and members of the transplant staff in order to further their understanding of the field of transplantation and
improve the quality of patient care.
The APD recognizes that research holds the key to the future for paired donation. Many patients and their families express interest in contributing money for transplantation research so that researchers can pursue the newest developments in the field. Individuals who wish to make transplant research-specific donations may contribute to the APD and know that their donations are tax deductible, and will be utilized to further the field of transplantation.
The APD also offers a means for transplant patients, friends and family to support worthy transplant-related causes under the umbrella of a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making their donations tax deductible. This may include fundraisers, benefits, and educational scholarships for the children of deceased transplant patients, or donations to pay for the hospital bills of families who do not have the financial resources to cover all of the costs incurred. |
